Auf beiden Seiten m\u00fcndet die Br\u00fccke direkt in einen Tunnel ein. Die zweite Bauphase umfasst den 3,2 Kilometer langen Freinbergtunnel von der Donau bis zum Hauptbahnhof sowie eine unterirdische Trasse (in offener Bauweise) anstelle der heutigen Waldeggstra\u00dfe.
