Following the discovery of cracks and deformations in the wall of the tunnel in the length of about 200 m, a renovation of 110 million euros has been planned for the period 2018-2023. All belts should be available. The belts are expected to close at night and on weekends. Calcium sulfate was found in a length of 450 m, of which 175 m were endangered. In this area, the roof slab should be reinforced and a steel frame should be pulled into the walls and ceiling and filled with concrete. The work should be ongoing and funded by the federal government. Preparations for the renovation, which cost 20 million euros, began in the summer of 2016. Construction work on the tunnels is expected to take place from April 2020 to 2024.
